Ghana will host Africa’s leading gathering on workplace safety and sustainability after a strategic partnership was signed in Accra between AfriSAFE, the Ghana Electrical Contractors’ Association (GECA), and the Ghana Institute of Safety and Environmental Professionals (GhISEP).
Under the agreement, Accra will host the 8th AfriSAFE – Africa Safety Congress & Awards from 5–6 November 2026 at the Labadi Beach Hotel, positioning Ghana as a key hub for safety leadership, professional collaboration, and industry dialogue.
The congress is expected to attract delegates from across Africa, Europe, and other international markets, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional development, and industry partnerships while also supporting tourism and business networking.
Femi Da-silva, CEO of AfriSAFE, said the partnership will help strengthen occupational safety frameworks, promote proactive risk prevention, and encourage cross-border collaboration among stakeholders shaping workplace safety in Africa.
GECA President Mr. Awal Sakib Mohammed noted that improving electrical safety is vital for Africa’s infrastructure growth, as electrical faults remain a major cause of fires and workplace emergencies.
GhISEP President Engr. Dr. Mrs. Miriam Eduful added that the congress will bring together professionals, regulators, and industry leaders to strengthen workplace safety systems and advance professional safety leadership across Africa.
Beyond the congress, the initiative is expected to support professional training, policy dialogue, and networking while strengthening Ghana’s reputation as a regional center for occupational safety and professional development.
